YouthMappers

YouthMappers is an international network of university-student-led chapters. Our mission is to organize, collaborate, and implement mapping activities that respond to actual development needs around the globe – creating and using geospatial data and information publicly available through open platforms, the most important one being OpenStreetMap. We are proud to have a YouthMappers chapter at UBC, affiliated with the GSA.

The mapping that we do benefits humanitarian organizations such as the Red Cross or Médecins Sans Frontières. Our work assists with development issues such as access to healthcare and disaster prevention planning. We work collaboratively in teams to either update maps with new information or to fill in missing areas.

Currently, our meetings are being held on Discord every Saturday from 2-3pm.
